My dad's funeral was one week ago and I guess I can say things are getting better. I'm able to talk about him most days without crying but it stills breaks (and warms) my heart to see M. go to bed every night clutching the program from the service. She carries it around with her and talks to Afi on her Dora cellphone. Clearly she understands that something is different, she just isn't quite sure what.

It made me teary. I'm very sad for your loss. I think losing parents is one of the worst things about getting older. I haven't gone through it yet, but I know that it will eventually come, and I'm watching friends go through it. :(
Poor Maren. We will have to give her extra hugs this weekend.
